VIC: Man charged over robbery of children s Xmas presents

MELBOURNE, Dec 25 AAP - A man will face court charged with stealing children's Christmas
presents from a house in northern Victoria.

A police spokesman said a 20-year-old man armed with a knife entered a Shepparton house
about 9.30pm yesterday and demanded money from a woman living there.

She gave him some cash but he then went into the next room and took three Christmas
stockings filled with presents for the woman's children, the spokesman said.

He alleged the stolen presents were found during a search of a nearby property and
a man was arrested.

The man was later charged with armed robbery and aggravated burglary.

He was remanded to appear in Shepparton Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
