Fed: Howard thinking of humanitarian issues in Iraq

CANBERRA, Feb 27 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard says the humanitarian situation inIraq is very much on his mind as Australian troops in the Middle East prepare for war.

Responding to an open letter from 30 aid agencies concerned at the humanitarian crisisarising from war in Iraq, Mr Howard said the case for action was overwhelming.

"I can assure you that the current humanitarian situation in Iraq is very much on mymind," Mr Howard wrote.
