SARATOGA SPRINGS - Monday was Hall of Fame day, but not a very good one for Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey at Saratoga Race Course.
Bailey, who rode Roman Ruler to victory in the $1 million Haskell Invitational on Sunday at Monmouth Park, was injured aboard Performing Diva in the post parade prior to the fourth race. Performing Diva threw her head back and caught Bailey, who came off the first-time starting 2-year-old filly, who took off down the track.
The jockey suffered cuts under his right eye and under the bridge of his nose. But cuts required stitches.
